I've recently been hosting a server for INS for a day or two now and I recently got this error after the server has been online for an hour or two, I am not quite sure what is the cause of this error. I have tried searching but it hasn't turned up any results yet. The Error then causes a "srcds.exe has stopped working".

Here is the Error;

"exec: couldn't exec skill1.cfg
Missing Shutdown fuction for Sys_InitAuthentication<> : Sys_ShutdownAuthentication<>"

Here is a screenshot of the error.

Any idea what might be causing this?

I get the same error on Win server 2008 x64, I use a AutoIt script to auto close the stopped responding window(can also be disabled in registry) combined with a looped start batch so it auto restarts.

$var1=1
While $var1=1
WinWait ("srcds.exe")
WinActivate("srcds.exe")
ControlClick("srcds.exe","","Button1")
send("{ENTER}")
WEnd

Basically it looks for a window with the title srcds.exe then highlights Button1 ( in this case its the close button ) and presses enter.

Just another reason why I <3 AutoIt. =)

I am using Autoit and I'll see if that works, I'd rather have a real fix to stop the error occuring but this should hopefully be a good temporary fix.

Thanks Nixtar.

Could you please post your looped start batch? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

My server just encountered the error again and using autoit didn't seem to work, the error is still sitting there without behind closed down. I have autoit running but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Hmm, can you attach a screen shot of the exact crash you get please?

And to your other post about the bat I use to start the server:

:start
echo started %date% %time% >> StartLog.txt
srcds.exe +maxplayers 24 -console +map siege +rcon_password NOOP
echo crashed %date% %time% >> StartLog.txt
goto start

Also what windows are you running? If its NT5.x (XP/Serv2003) it will most likely have a different title in the error that is displayed.

I get an error in the cmd.exe and also a stopped responding window pops up.

Here are both;

The Dedicated server is running Windows Server 2008 x64

EDIT : I edited the registry so that the "srcds.exe has stopped responding" window does not show and then the looped start batch then kicks into effect restarting the server. If anyone else wants to know how to do it just ask.

Ahh, well. The autoit script would have worked if you changed

WinWait ("srcds.exe") to WinWait ("Microsoft Windows") as it looks for the window title.

Anyhow I have not experienced any crashes since the May 4 patch.

hate to resurrect an old thread.

But i'm having this exact crash error, it happens within the first 2-3 maps every single time making it almost impossible to play on my server

anyone else still having major crashes like this?
